Spring 2014

Happy New Year!

It's about time again to begin another semester. Hopefully all of you have rested up after finals and are ready to begin full-throttle next week!

A few things to remember:

1) Check-in begins tomorrow -- sign in to your berklee.edu account and check-in for this semester asap!
(*Entering students must do this in person at the Student Activities Center)


2) If you haven't come by the LiveWell office yet and signed up, what are you waiting for?! Make sure we have you on file so that you never miss out on events throughout the semester. Come and say hi soon!!

3) Be sure to stay connected with LiveWell through our Facebook page, our Twitter page, and our new Pinterest page so that you never miss a beat!


As we wrap up our vacations and settle in for the cold days ahead, remember that the best way to stay on top of schoolwork and rehearsals is to stay as healthy as possible!! This winter, make it a habit to go to sleep EARLY to allow your body and brain to rest as much as possible, eat plenty of wholesome foods (root veggies are perfect for winter!), and drink plenty of water and fluids to keep your body functioning at its absolute best. And while its the bane of our existence during winter, get your body moving and sweating at least 30 minutes a day --- promise you won't regret it!


A great tip for maintaing healthy eating habits as a college student on a budget is to use a slow-cooker for your most important meals! They are available in small sizes (perfect for dorm rooms if allowed or small apartments), are inexpensive, and totally worth it. You just set up all the ingredients the night before for a delicious hearty breakfast in the morning or set it up before you head to school and dinner is ready when you come home!! Doesn't that sound like a marvelous addition to your hectic lifestyles?

Cinnamon-Pecan Oatmeal by Glamour





Warm Cinnamon Pecan Oatmeal

Serves 1

Ingredients
1/2 cup gluten-free oats such as Bakery on Main Gluten-Free Oatmeal
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. pecans
1 tbsp. honey

Directions

Prepare the oats according to the package directions. Top with cinnamon, pecans, and honey. Serve warm.
